Meet Paula McPhail and Deirdre O'Reilly, two best friends, proud grandmothers, and the hearts behind Nana's Adventures.
Paula and Deirdre have shared a lifetime of laughter, love, and cherished memories. But like so many families today, distance has found its way between them and the grandchildren they adore. Paula's grandchildren are spread across New York, Los Angeles, and Dublin. Deirdre's grandchildren live in New Zealand. Thousands of miles separate them from the little ones they love most.
Yet their bond, and their love, is unbreakable.
Where the Idea Was Born
It was from that very distance that Nana's Adventures was born. Paula and Deirdre wanted a way to stay present in their grandchildren's lives, to be there for the bedtimes, the quiet moments, the stories before sleep, even when they couldn't be there in person.
Together, they imagined a magical world where a wise and gentle owl, Nana Owl, carries the love and wisdom that every grandmother holds in her heart, wherever she goes. Alongside Nana Owl are six bright, diverse children who represent grandchildren from around the world: curious, kind, and full of wonder.
Stories That Travel the Distance
Through the Nana's Adventures series, Paula and Deirdre bring to life the adventures they wish they could share with their grandchildren every day. Each book celebrates imagination, family, and the timeless bond between grandmothers and their grandchildren, reminding every child that Nana's love is never far away, no matter the distance.
Since launching, Nana's Adventures has been welcomed into the homes and hearts of families across Ireland and beyond. Every book sold is a little piece of that love, travelling to a new family.
